Macaque Records begins its discography Manifest Destiny is Gilman Mom’s vulnerable sophomore album. It explores a bog of emotional confliction. Gilman Mom stumbles through a moody, rainy night on a path that eventually leads to self-discovery, mental peace, and a paradigm shift.The album was eventually recaptured on film.

On November 15, 2017, a visual representation of Manifest Destiny was released. The film provides a backdrop for the listener to further immerse themselves in the world of the piece and is “somewhere between a home movie and an art film”.
